What is a multi drop delivery service?
A multi drop delivery service uses a single dedicated driver and vehicle to collect from one location and deliver to several destinations on one carefully planned route. Instead of booking a separate same-day courier for each delivery — which adds collection time, paperwork and cost to every package — you hand the whole list of consignments to one driver who runs the route in the most efficient order.
For businesses distributing to multiple customers, branches, suppliers or sites in a day, the savings add up quickly. A run of ten drops handled by a multi drop driver typically costs 40–60% less than ten individual same-day bookings, and finishes in a fraction of the time because the route is planned once and the driver is not waiting for a fresh job between stops.
How our multi drop deliveries work
Every multi drop job starts with a quick conversation. You tell us your collection point, the list of destinations, any time windows, and what is being delivered. Our operations team in Manchester then plans the route, selects the right vehicle for the consignment, and dispatches a dedicated driver. From there:
- Collection — one collection from your warehouse, office or production site, in a single load. We bring the right vehicle for the volume.
- Route execution — the driver works the planned sequence of drops in the most fuel- and time-efficient order, with our control room tracking progress in real time.
- Proof of delivery — signature or photo proof captured at each stop and pushed to you live, with a consolidated proof-of-delivery report at the end of the run.
- Reporting — for regular runs we can supply weekly reports showing on-time performance, exceptions and route timings, so you can build the data into your own operations.
Industries we serve
Multi drop is one of the most versatile courier services we offer. Among the sectors that rely on Cend for multi drop runs are:
- Retail and e-commerce — restocking branches, fulfilling clusters of same-day customer orders, returns consolidation.
- Healthcare and pharmacy — prescription distribution to community pharmacies, equipment swaps between clinics, urgent samples between sites.
- Food and beverage — deliveries to restaurants, cafés and event venues where short windows and chilled handling matter.
- Manufacturing and engineering — parts and components moved between production sites, contractors and end customers.
- Professional services — legal packs, payroll and contracts moved between branch offices, courts, and clients.
- Events and exhibitions — staging materials, brochures and stock delivered to multiple venues on the same day.
Multi drop coverage from our Manchester base
Cend operates from Universal Square in central Manchester, which gives us fast access to the M60, M62, M6 and M56 motorway network. That means a multi drop run can comfortably cover the whole of Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and West Yorkshire as a single same-day route. Longer runs into the Midlands, the North East, North Wales and the South of England are equally well served — either same day for time-critical loads, or planned overnight for cost-optimised distribution.
For clients with a national distribution requirement, we coordinate multiple vehicles departing from our Manchester hub on planned routes. See the full list of areas we cover for more detail on the cities and regions we deliver to most frequently.

Frequently asked questions
What counts as a multi drop run?
Any job involving one collection point and two or more delivery destinations can be handled as a multi drop. Most of our clients book runs of five to twenty drops, but we have no minimum or maximum.
How quickly can you collect?
Same day collection from anywhere in Greater Manchester is normally available within the hour. For multi drop runs starting from further afield, we agree a collection time when we quote.
Do I get a fixed price?
Yes. Every multi drop run is quoted in advance based on the route, the number of drops, the vehicle required and any specialist handling. There are no surprise charges — what we quote is what you pay.
Can you do recurring multi drop runs?
Absolutely. Many clients book recurring daily or weekly runs on contract terms. These are significantly cheaper per drop than ad-hoc bookings and let you treat Cend like an extension of your own logistics team.
What if a delivery point is closed when the driver arrives?
Our drivers carry your contact details and our operations team is on the phone throughout. We will attempt to reach the consignee, leave a card, or redirect to a nominated alternative. Failed drops are documented in the end-of-run proof-of-delivery report.
Do you handle fragile, hazardous or temperature-sensitive goods?
Yes. We routinely move fragile and high-value goods, and offer temperature-aware handling for pharmaceutical and food deliveries. Hazardous goods can be quoted on a case-by-case basis — please mention the nature of the consignment when you enquire.
